My Daddy was an amazing man. There wasn't much he couldn't do once he set his mind to do it. He was a perfectionist which kept him from doing certain things but they weren't worth doing anyway... haha...

I remember he tried cabinetry once and failed at it and we couldn't figure out why except his forte' was iron and steel not wood and power tools. He gladly gave up the cabinetry and found himself here at home at the Blacksmith Shop for a Contractor for the Railroad who was in charge of refurbishing old beat up train cars.

He soon became Foreman and he was a great Foreman for his Crew. There were grain cars that came in that would need welding in spots. This was so, so dangerous! Grain is flammable and a torch is pure fire.

Daddy would not let any of his men torch the grain cars, he insisted on doing them all by himself. My Dad's heart was bigger than Dallas and twice as big as your imagination can take you.

Please give my Story Card a good look and maybe you will be led to look at my other work or sign up for a weekly Civil Rights Rag that is soon to come.
